Our guest this week is Farnaz Azmoodeh in episode #199….we are one away from the big 200!
Farnaz is the CTO at Linktree, with a career spanning Google, Snapchat, and some of the world’s most innovative tech companies. But her journey starts far from Silicon Valley.
Born in Tehran during the Iran-Iraq War, Farnaz grew up surrounded by love, resilience, and an engineering-driven family. Her grandfather’s relentless work ethic and ability to reinvent himself—even after a stroke in his 80s—inspired her to chase impact and approach every challenge with calm confidence.
In this episode, Vidit and Farnaz explore:
- Her journey from an introverted, book-loving kid to a global tech leader
- How 10 years at Google shaped her engineering foundations—and the lessons she learned from over-engineering at scale
- Taking the leap to Snapchat, where she built the zero-to-one monetisation engine before the company’s IPO
- Why she thrives in fast-moving environments and what drove her to join Linktree
- Balancing work and life as a self-proclaimed efficiency fanatic—with tactics like 5-minute late starts for meetings and a to-do list built from emailed reminders
- How she builds trust with teams and handles the tough role of being a change agent in high-growth companies
And hear her reflections on what success really means—why scaling yourself as a human is the key to scaling yourself at work.
This is a another rare public interview with a world class guest in Farnaz.
It’s now time to explore your curiosity. Please enjoy!
